WILLING TO RELOCATE

Willing to relocate is an important qualification for a recruiter.  A candidate who is willing to relocate is someone that any recruiter would want to speak to if they have the qualifications.

Some companies will state that they have a relocation package, some companies will not pay for relocation so the candidate who is willing to relocate must make it very clear that they will relocate at their own expense.

This brings us to your resume.  When posting your resume  on a job board, some will  have a place where you can designate whether you are willing to relocate and also where you would like to relocate to.  Others don’t give you that option.

Adding this to your resume that you are willing to relocate is a good way of letting a recruiter know, but if you are not willing to relocate, don’t choose that option and don’t put it on your resume.

There is nothing more frustrating to a recruiter who finds the perfect candidate and is willing to relocate only to find out after talking with them they are not.  This will put you at the bottom of the list for a recruiter.

If you will only relocate if there is a relocation package, state that, if you are willing to relocate to certain areas, state that as well.

It is important that you disclose your information so that a recruiter can make a decision on whether they should reach out to.

If your willing to relocate, great, if not don’t put in on your resume or choose it on a job board when posting your resume
