All of us have received rejection emails for positions that we have applied for and most of us will just delete the email because it just frustrates us.
Then we still see the job posted and wonder why we didn’t at least get a screening call.
Before you get irritated and frustrated it would be a good time to take a closer look at why you were rejected.
Sometimes we don’t always get a reason for being rejected but when that happens that is the time to go back and look at your resume you submitted to the position.
Self reflection is a very important part of moving forward. Look at the job description, compare it to your resume and see where you were missing the mark.
Your skills may look like they match the job but taking a closer look and keeping an open mind you may find that, indeed you really weren’t a fit for the position. By doing this, the next time you apply to a position, you will feel more confident on at least getting a screening.
Once you get a request for a screening, that will be the time for you to sell yourself and your skills and that could eliminate a lot of rejection emails
Sometimes job postings will stay up long after the position has been filled, hiring managers and recruiters will do this so as to allow themselves to gather more candidates in case a replacement is needed.
Reflect on your skills and your resume and make sure you really are a fit for the position that you are applying for.
