Full contact information to avoid being skipped over

I have reviewed thousands of resumes and the one thing that stands our for me is; no contact information.

By this I mean, no location and no full name.  All recruiters will have to enter resumes into their companies ATS and to enter just a first name or without a location slows down the process.

If a recruiter has to stop and reach out to you to get your complete name and address, you run the risk of being skipped over.  With so many candidates flooding the market today a recruiter doesn’t have the luxury of stopping to get the vital information they need and they will pass over your resume because you didn’t take the time to put all of the information in.

90% of the time, when I see a resume with just a first name or no location on it, I skip over it without reviewing it, I do this because I need to get qualified candidates for my requisitions and having to stop to get more information slows down my process.

Speed to market is vital in today’s job market for recruiters as well as candidates.  Don’t lose out on a position that you are excited about because your contact information wasn’t shared on your resume.

You will see posts and blogs from people who will say that you should take your contact information off your resume for many different reasons.  As a recruiter I would not recommend this. To much time can be wasted in the process of vetting resumes for positions.

The more information you give, the faster your resume will be reviewed.
